Foshan and Chaoshan are
the two most famous cities for paper-
cuts. The paper-cuts collected
by Guangzhou Art Museum were
donated by the well-known papercut
artist Zhang Ba, the majority of
which depict flowers, birds, fishes,
animals, actors and folk stories. In
Foshan, a large amount of papercuts
are used during various festivals
and ceremonies. For example,
during the Spring Festival, papercuts
are pasted on windows and
doors. The objects are also exported
to Southeast Asia.
